Professor M. Tariq Ahsan, PhD is working with the Institute of Education and Research (IER) at the University of Dhaka as Professor. His specialization areas include Inclusive education, Special Education, Hearing impairments, Disability studies, Alternative Communication and Teacher preparation. Tariq did a number of research on disability, education, special education and inclusive education issues and published about 50 papers in the form of national and international journal articles, books, conference proceedings, periodicals and reports. He was also involved in Sign Supported Bangla Language Development process in Bangladesh and worked with UNESCO-Bangkok for developing Teachers' Training Toolkit for the Asia Pacific Region. Besides, Tariq was also involved in an International project on Inclusive Education in Asian Countries at Monash University in Australia as a member of the organizing committee. He is the executive Secretary of the Asian Centre for Inclusive Education (ACIE) and the founding editor of Asian Journal of Inclusive Education (AJIE).

Umesh Sharma is Professor in the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Australia where he is the Associate Dean (Equity and Inclusion). Umesh’s research programs in the area of disability and inclusive education span India, Pakistan, China, Bangladesh, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Samoa as well as Australia, Canada, USA and New Zealand.  He has conducted several award-winning national and international projects on topics like Funding of education for students with disability for the Commonwealth of Australia, the Development of Personalised and Support Guidelines for the Victorian Government, and the development of the National Policy on Inclusive Education for the Solomon Islands.

Gunawan Zakki, serves as National Professional Officer, UNESCO Jakarta since 2016. Mr. Zakki has the responsibility to support UNESCO in the provision of technical assistance for the implementation of SDG4-Quality Education in Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and Timor-Leste, as the Cluster Countries of UNESCO Jakarta. Mr. Zakki expertise in the area of Education Policy, Peace Education, Inclusive Education and Child Protection. Mr. Zakki pursued his bachelor degree on Education from University of Lampung (UNILA) and his post-graduate on Education and Development form the School of International Development, University of East Anglia, United Kingdom. He has ranged working experience in some International Organisations in the areas of Inclusive Education and Employment, Education and Nutrition, Education and Waste Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Women Empowerment and Child Protection.

She is an English teacher and curriculum developer at Madrassa An Noor for Blind and tutor at the University of South Africa. 

She completed Bachelor of Education Honours, Specialising in Inclusive Education through University of South Africa.
